We can recommend two places which are worth contacting for insurance quotes. Quickest and easiest is Carole Nash who are a freephone call away on 0800 083 4422 (please quote dealer ref 0321)
But if you prefer to do everything online it's worth contacting Rampdale who we have found to be extremely competitive for new customers.
It's a legal requirement for any bike riders making use of the British Highway to have motorbike insurance. The minimum insurance cover you need is third party insurance which means you are insured if you injure or damage someone else or their property. Third party fire and theft means you are also insured against personal loss if your bike is stolen or catches fire. Fully Comprehensive is the most expensive type of cover but does mean your own bike and body are insured even if you have an accident which is your own fault.
An insurance excess is the amount which *you* will have to pay towards any repairs or damages payments if you make a claim. So if your bike is worth £1000 and your motorbike insurance policy states a £250 excess you will only receive £750 if your bike is considered a total loss. Or if you have an accident which is your fault and someone is injured or their property is damaged you will have to pay your insurance company £250 toward the final bill.
